Picture this, Miglia TVMax or El Gato 250 box, ext HD and MacMini plugged into 40″ plus plasma. Control the setup with a Logitech all-in-one remote and Logitech Dinovo Mini Keyboard and you can watch, record, time shift, push to iPod etc all off your TV. Now, add the QuickCam Pro and you can have video chat conversations with your mates at the same time, all from the comfort of you couch! Nice! Perfect for my 2 yo to chat to his grandparents (sitting in front of a computer does NOT work).
It may sound like I am a bit of a Logitech shill but I assure you this is not the case (I wish! I might get some freebies then!) I have just used a lot of their stuff and found it to be of sound quality and reliability. I have also been impressed by the cross platform support on most of their product line.

Some of the larger chain stores like Dick Smith Power House, Big W and Office Works seem to be joining the digital storage price war. For external hard drives at least. Things have heated up so much that they are even out pricing MSY Technology the bargain shop frequented by any tech geek worth their salt all around the country.
All of this spells great news for the consumer. Except you can’t help but feel a little miffed when you see the same thing but cheaper in a junk mail catalogue 3 days later. In the fast paced world of technology however, you just have to suck that up and dive in.
If you haven’t got a current back up, now is a great time to get a big drive and copy all that data.
